Spencerian penmanship, which originated in the mid-19th century and was devised by Platt Rogers Spencer, embodies a flowing and graceful script celebrated for its elegant, ornate flourishes. It became incredibly popular in the United States and was used widely for business correspondence as well as personal letters and is often seen as the quintessential style of American handwriting.
In this workshop, you will:
- -Understand the history of Spencerian script
- -Detailed study of the principles of Spencerian script
- – learn warm-up drills
- – In-depth analysis of lowercase letterforms
- – Write words and spacing
This workshop is designed for beginners and improvers. No prior pointed pen experience is needed.
