India's structured certification for calligraphy educators. A six-month program that trains serious practitioners to teach, with clarity, structure, and pedagogical depth.
Applications are reviewed as they arrive, so seats fill by decision rather than by deadline. Applying early is genuinely better than applying late.
Every script that survives does so because someone chose to teach it. Not because it was practised beautifully by a few, but because it was transmitted, deliberately, to people who then transmitted it again. Transmission is a trained skill. It is not a byproduct of mastery.
Calligraphy in India has been sustained through the dedication of practitioners who passed knowledge on through workshops, individual teaching, and mentorship. As interest has grown, especially among learners aged 8 to 16, the gap has become clear. A calligrapher can produce excellent work for twenty years and still be unable to explain a single stroke to a nervous ten-year-old. Those are two different crafts, and only one of them is being taught.
Teaching young learners needs structure, age-appropriate progression, and pedagogy that holds up across a real classroom. CTTP was created to address exactly that, by focusing on teacher training rather than skill development alone.
Teach calligraphy with structure and age-appropriate methods
Balance artistic practice with pedagogy and lesson planning
Work confidently with children and young learners
Contribute meaningfully to the long-term growth of calligraphy education in India
Our team has spent years teaching calligraphy learners across India. In that time we watched closely: where students hesitated, which corrections actually changed a hand, and which explanations never landed no matter how many times they were repeated.
We also paid attention to the ecosystem around those students. How schools approach handwriting and the arts. What parents ask for. What the inquiries reaching us from aspiring teachers were really asking, underneath the question about fees and duration.
Alongside that, we compared what happens in a real classroom with what the available courses in the market were offering. The pattern was consistent. Students could learn calligraphy. Many still could not teach it. They had the hand, and not the confidence, the sequence, or the language to guide someone else through it.
So we kept working on the answer. Across multiple batches we rebuilt the curriculum, tested different teaching structures, and refined the sequence until the progression held for learners of different backgrounds and different starting points. Feedback from every batch went back into the design of the next one.
Today our students leave with something a series of isolated calligraphy courses does not produce: clarity about how the craft is built, confidence standing in front of a class, and real professional exposure before they begin.
If your goal is to become a calligraphy educator, and not only someone who practises calligraphy, this program has been designed for you.
CTTP is a commitment to your practice, your discipline, and your growth. Please apply only if you are ready to engage fully.
CTTP is for those who are serious about education, impact, and growth.
Every stroke, letter, and word is taught with purpose: why it exists, how it behaves, and how it connects.
You learn how to document your journey, present your work, and approach calligraphy as a serious discipline.
Teachers develop through process-oriented learning and classroom-focused teaching practice.
CTTP bridges the gap · passion to profession · skill to pedagogy · practice to teaching
| A calligraphy course | CTTP |
|---|---|
| Ends when you can write well | Ends when you can teach well |
| Teaches technique | Teaches technique and how to transfer it |
| No pedagogy | A full module of pedagogy and teaching practice |
| Work is admired | Work is assessed and corrected |
| Open enrollment | Admission by application and interview |
| Ends with a certificate | Ends with a capstone, an internship, and two portfolios |
Both are worth doing, and they lead to different places. If your goal is to improve your own calligraphy, a good course will serve you better and cost you less. If your goal is to teach, keep reading.
The commitment, stated exactly.
To reach the intended learning outcomes, plan for roughly 8 to 10 hours of self-study each week outside the live sessions. This typically includes:
What every participant receives, from day one.
A structured, sequenced curriculum that builds technical mastery alongside pedagogical readiness. Each module has defined learning outcomes, guided practice, and regular assessment.
These are not handouts. Each module of CTTP is published as a designed, printed workbook that stays on your shelf long after the batch ends, and that you can teach from directly.
They arrive as part of your kit, included in the fee.
One Capstone Project, not a series of separate assignments. It is the final integrated assessment of everything the six months have built, and it carries two components.
The natural continuation of the learning journey. Certification tells you that you are trained. The internship is where you find out that you can actually do it, with mentors still beside you.
Book a counselling call for a detailed module walkthrough and curriculum discussion.

CTTP does not promise perfection. It promises clarity, confidence, and direction.
By the end of CTTP, you don't just know calligraphy. You are ready to teach it responsibly.
Applications are read personally, not filtered by software. They are reviewed as they arrive rather than all at the end, which is why applying early matters.
Your work, your background, and your reasons for wanting to teach
A twenty-minute conversation, not an examination. Ask us anything.

Accepted applicants have five days to confirm their seat

Selection is not gatekeeping for its own sake. In a cohort of this size with assessed work and peer review, the people beside you shape what you learn. It is the only mechanism that protects the standard you are paying for, and it is why the certificate means something.

The course was thoughtfully designed, with each session building on the previous one, ensuring steady skill development. The balance between theory and practice supported my growth effectively. All queries were promptly and thoroughly addressed during sessions.
The course was well-structured, from history of calligraphy to knowledge of each script taught. The mix of theory and practical applications ensured a well-rounded learning experience. I highly recommend this for anyone planning to build a career in teaching calligraphy.
The structure focuses on important topics while keeping students engaged. It personally helped me understand how to prepare a lesson plan and arrange sessions from the ground up. Technical learning helped me understand how to apply this in my professional life.
Each stroke is taught with such technical detail that the learning process becomes very systematic. The CTTP program not only enhanced my calligraphy skills but also inspired a deeper appreciation for this beautiful art form. Highly recommended.
The course has been very well structured and thoughtfully designed. Every aspect reflects the careful planning and dedication of the mentors. It is not only enriching for learners but also extremely beneficial for those who wish to teach calligraphy further.
I now feel equipped not only as a calligrapher but as someone ready to share this beautiful art with others. The instructors are knowledgeable, patient, and passionate. Highly recommended to anyone passionate about calligraphy and teaching.
